Client & Brief

A beloved family home full of character and charm.

Design Response

This project involved various additions and alterations to the beautiful Federation Queen Anne Home, including a new kitchen, updated bathrooms, laundry, interior colour scheme, deck extension, new garage/workshop as well as remedial works to the existing verandah and brickwork. The design approach aimed to retain the existing character of the homes exterior, while internally the decision was made to contrast the existing features of the home with simple and classic finishes and fittings. A colour palette of white, american white oak timber, shades of blue and carrara marble were introduced inside the home to achieve this, while also providing a light and contemporary aesthetic in what was previously a dark interior. To further assist with bringing light into the interior a series of skylights were introduced to the kitchen and hallways.
